Lothar Semmlinger is a German master maker who works with his two sons in his quaint workshop in Baiersdorf, Germany (some miles northeast of Nuernberg). Semmlinger instruments are played by professionals around the world. The instruments offer a warm, dark tone and easy playability—ideal for the serious intermediate to advanced players.
The back, ribs and scroll of the cello have been constructed out of Carpathian maple. The two-piece top is of narrow-grained spruce. The quality varnish is of a typical Mittenwald red-brown color, on golden base.
The cello is sold with a certificate of authencity from the maker.
